Strata Paving Slate 'Flexstone' Jupiter WALL CLADDING
Complete your project...
Product Description
Strata's Flexstone cladding is an innovative new product which can be used to clad walls and other surfaces.
It is an extremely thin natural stone sheet that can be fixed on to many surfaces, indoor and outdoor, including curved surfaces. The weight and flexibility of the sheet allows it to be used in a wide array of applications such as wall panelling, cladding, doors, cabinets, shower panels, splash backs, counter tops etc.
Whether vertical or horizontal, the low thickness and weight of Strata Flexstone makes it possible to use it at places where traditional natural stone cannot be installed due to its weight and cost.
Use a high adhesive strength sealant to bond the product to a surface, we strongly recommend using an invisible product on the lighter colour sheets. For easier application spread the sealant with an A2 trowel.
Available in sheets 2440 x 1220mm or 1220 x 610mm, only 1-2mm thick.

Material Information
Slate Description:
Slate is a fine-grained metamorphic rock that is formed from sedimentary rock, usually shale or mudstone, through intense heat and pressure over time. The process of slate formation, known as metamorphism, causes the rock to become denser, harder, and more durable. Slate has been used for centuries as a material for roofing, flooring, and paving due to its durability, water resistance, and attractive appearance. As a paving material, slate is highly versatile and can be used in a range of applications, from patios and garden paths to walling and garden features and is very hardwearing and highly impervious to stains and algae. Slate paving has a mildly riven or naturally uneven surface where the stone has been handsplit across the natural layers in the stone. Brazilian slate generally has a flatter surface than Indian slate and the edge finish with most slate products is usually sawn to give a straight finish, although, as with all natural stone, there may be a slight tolerance on the dimensions and regularity of the cut edge. As slate is formed in layers, it's possible to occasionally encounter a small amount of shaling on the surface of the paving where it has been recently quarried and this will soon cease once the paving wears in following laying. Slate paving works well in both traditional and contemporary garden styles and adds a touch of class to any garden.
Slate Colour:
The colour options of slate paving slabs are as varied and rich as the natural landscapes from which this metamorphic rock is sourced. Slate is available in a wide range of shades and hues, from earthy browns and greens to smoky greys and blues. The typical colour options with slate are as follows:
Blue | Black - this slate paving has dark blue-grey colouring with satin colours when dry and rich dark grey-black shades when wet. This classic shade brings understated elegance providing a sleek and sophisticated backdrop to your patio.
Grey | Green - this shade range of slate introduces elegent grey-green tones and a mid shade colour palette. The cool tones of this range bring willowy hues and a contemporary stylish finish.
Rustic | Copper - this mix of slate colours brings a steely grey backdrop combined with shades of warm terracotta, rich sienna and golden ochre as a contrasting overlay, offering a bold statement patio stone.
Natural Stone Characteristics:
All natural stone products are unique and will vary in colour and texture, often showing distinctive markings, minor imperfections and may include mineral deposits such as iron and quartzite. Sizes are nominal and may vary and there may be dimensional tolerances affecting size and thickness in accordance with British Standards. Some paving manufacturers include the pointing allowance in the individual slab sizes whereas others include the pointing allowance in the overall pack coverage. The product images shown are as accurate as photographic processes allow and may appear differently in accordance with lighting conditions and screen calibration in addition to the natural variation occurring between batches. Images may not be a true representation of a particular product size or laying pattern. Descriptions provided offer a combination of the manufacturer's and our own opinion of the product's characteristics and features.
